:: design we love :: KATE ATKINSON
After reading three Kate Atkinson books [and about to start on a fourth], it’s time to provide you the monthly blog post to shout her praises. A writer friend used to describe books he liked as ‘structural’ and, at the time, I didn’t quite understand the full meaning. After weaving my way through different genres over the years, I realized a common thread in fiction that I craved was structuralism. Kate Atkinson provides a beautifully, structural-complex and character-driven novel with ‘Life After Life’, living on the pages with her characters, starting over on the next pages with the same characters, reimagining life taking different turns and how small decisions and moments change the trajectory entirely. Skipping around while getting closer to the meaning, this book is rich like dark chocolate mousse you swirl around with your spoon.
